Ubuntu better. As far as i now beagle development was stopped 2010. I

  Beagle continues to index data while laptop is on battery power

Status in “beagle” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: beagle

  At the search and indexing preferences I don't have the "Index data
  while on battery power" checked. But as soon my laptop gets
  disconnected from the power Beagle starts to index data.

  When I'm on battery power I get a lot of beagle-helper, lots of disk
  activity and the battery duration vanishes quickly.
