Title:
Cannot run applications that use System.Data.OleDb

Status in “mono” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: mono

  Running KUbuntu 10.10

When running applications that use System.Data.OleDB, mono throws a
  System.DllNotFoundException, stating that it can't find libgda-2.so.3
(try the example code at http://www.mono-project.com/OLE_DB).

At the very least there ought to be some documentation as to why this
fails, why this library is referenced but not installable (on any
available version since Hardy...). The closest note (on a mono mailing
list -- google for it) I could find is that it's "not important
functionality". Be that as it might, it's not ok to randomly make that
bit of the API useless, since it IS used in code. If that's not
available, some sort of link to porting instructions from OleDb to
whatever API is acceptable would be useful.
