  gnome-do does not show the gui, it keeps running in the background,

Status in “gnome-do” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  When starting gnome-do it keeps running, but is not showing the
  interface. It does not matter if you kill the process and start it
  again or a complete restart.

  Also letting the computer run for a long time does not solve the
  problem.
