Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. The version of Ubuntu referenced in this issue has reached end of life, and the issue is fixed in newer versions of Ubuntu.

Bug description:
  1. - Import some pictures from your camera with gnome-volume-manager-
  gthumb to any folder. If your camera has that feature, pictures shot
  in vertical possition will be automatically properly rotated.

  2.- Import that folder with f-spot. Pictures which had been rotated
  just will not show up.
