checking this path seems to be hardcoded into the application.
but you can install the 2.0 version of corlib:
sudo apt-get install libmono-corlib2.0-cil

Title:
Mono searching wrong directory for assemblies

Status in “mono” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Here is my current problem, from the command line I ran:
  :mono XOscillo.exe
which fails with the error message "The assembly mscorlib.dll was not found or could not be loaded.
It should have been installed in the `/usr/lib/mono/2.0/mscorlib.dll' directory."

Some background information, XOscillo.exe is a .net program that the author has test on linux (no distro listed) using mono. It can be downloaded from https://code.google.com/p/xoscillo/downloads/list and is located in the zip file.
Continuing with my trouble shooting I checked /usr/lib/2.0, which does not exist as mono is currently version 4. I also confirmed mscorlib.dll is present in /usr/lib/mono/4.0/.
Is there an easy way to change the directory that mono checks for assemblys? I did a google search already and did not turn up a solution.

  Thanks,
  Mark
