The gnome-subtitles package in Ubuntu is missing a dependency on
libmono-i18n4.0-all. The original debian package has already been
updated but it hasn't been synchronized yet to Ubuntu. Until that
happens, the easy fix will be to manually install libmono-i18n4.0-all.
That should fix your problem.
