One way of testing that this isn't banshee at fault (except as relates to bug 856542), is to gnome-open one of the following links depending on your location:

Bug description:
  * have banshee opened
  * open the music scope
  * makes a search, select a track
  * the selected track in u1ms isn't the same (maybe due to US/Europe?)
