This issue has been resolved. It turns out that the issue was actually
related to Mono, as I was getting similar errors while trying to run
other Mono applications, like Banshee. To fix the issue, I simply re-
installed every Mono package I had installed. Tomboy (and other Mono
applications) are now launching and running perfectly.

Title:
Tomboy does not launch - "Unhandled Exception" - Kubuntu 11.04

Status in The Mono .NET development environment:
  Invalid
Status in “tomboy” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I just finished a fresh installation of Kubuntu 11.04 (Natty, amd64)
yesterday. After installing Tomboy, it does not launch. If I try to
open it through Konsole, I receive the following output (100%
  reproducible):

  sam at sam-kubuntu:~$ tomboy

Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidProgramException: Missing or incorrect header for method .ctor
    at Tomboy.ActionManager..ctor () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
    at Tomboy.Application.Initialize (System.String locale_dir, System.String display_name, System.String process_name, System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
    at Tomboy.Tomboy.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

Similarly, if I throw the --debug flag on the command, this is the
  output I receive:

  sam at sam-kubuntu:~$ tomboy --debug
** Running Mono with --debug **
[DEBUG 17:04:31.562] Failed to register with session manager: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files

Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidProgramException: Missing or incorrect header for method .ctor
    at Tomboy.ActionManager..ctor () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
    at Tomboy.Application.Initialize (System.String locale_dir, System.String display_name, System.String process_name, System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
    at Tomboy.Tomboy.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

These are the remedies I have attempted, all resulting in the same error:
  1. Purging Tomboy and reinstalling through APT
  2. Purging tomboy and building 1.6.0 from source.
  3. Deleting ~/.local/share/tomboy and ~/.config/tomboy.

I am able to run Gnote, but that is not an ideal solution, as it does
  not yet have synchronization support.
