Well, I tried to reproduce this on the live desktop again and all seemed
fine so I don't know what happened the first time.

Unless someone else reports the same issue I think it's safe to consider
this a fluke, and mark this invalid.

This particular hardware boots to unity-2D by default (P4M800 graphics).

Bug description:
  I'm just testing the Oneiric 20111009-i386 live image and I first
  played the video example which appeared to work fine, but when I tried
  the audio example banshee opened as expected. Then I had to unmute the
  sound, and afterwards I was unable to pause or quit banshee at all.
  Even after the sample song ended it's not possible to close banshee.

  To reproduce just play the sample song in examples and try to pause,
  quit, or close the app.
