Bug description:
Please sync gnome-subtitles 1.2 (universe) from Debian unstable
(main). The current version in Ubuntu (1.1) is about 10 months old and
1.2 has been released recently, containing multiple bug fixes and
enhancements.

- Support for merging and splitting subtitle lines
- Allow to view character counts in the subtitle list and editing area

- New shortcuts for quick timings change:
* Increase/decrease subtitle start time: Ctrl+Plus/Minus (on the numpad)
