I have same issue here too:

[Info 06:37:19.315] Docky version: 2.1.2 Release
[Info 06:37:19.322] Kernel version: 2.6.38.8
[Info 06:37:19.323] CLR version: 2.0.50727.1433
[Fatal 06:37:19.472] DBus could not be found and is required by Docky. Exiting.

Then I followed Robert Dyer's suggestion to install dbus-sharp and dbus-sharp-glib packages from PPA - https://launchpad.net/~docky-core/+archive/ppa .
Mine is Natty so I included these two lines in my /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/docky-core/ppa/ubuntu natty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/docky-core/ppa/ubuntu natty main

Then I do:
 [a] apt-get update
 [b] apt-get install docky --reinstall

Then I run docky:

[Fatal 06:54:15.451] DBus could not be found and is required by Docky. Exiting.

Am I missing something?
Thanks.
