I experience this bug in Ubuntu 11.04 with banshee 2.0.0-2ubuntu1.
Try with the attached MP3 file, it contains an ID3 title tag with
Swedish non-ASCII characters encoded with UTF-8.
The id3v2 tool shows it correctly in the terminal:
$ id3v2 -l test.mp3
id3v1 tag info for test.mp3:
Title : Räksmörgås Artist:
Album : Year: , Genre: Unknown (255)
Comment: Track: 0
id3v2 tag info for test.mp3:
TIT2 (Title/songname/content description): Räksmörgås
But in Banshee you see garbage.
** Attachment added: "Small MP3 file with ID3 tag with UTF-8 characters"
