Running "killall tangerine" before logout also solves the issue. (Just
as "forcing" logout, but that's not of a help :(...

Title:
Tangerine blocks session log out
Status in “tangerine” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: tangerine
Tangerine seems to block the session log out. On log out, the session
manager displays a warning saying an unknown application is still
running and asks for confirmation. Uninstalling tangerine solves this
issue (but obviously I don't have tangerine at all anymore).
