The result from mtp-detect is
jim at jim-Vostro-1700:~$ mtp-detect
libmtp version: 1.0.6
Listing raw device(s)
No raw devices found.
jim at jim-Vostro-1700:~$
The above is true no matter what player I plug in
Zen Stone 1GB - Banshee read and wrote to this one fine
Zen Stone Plus 2GB - Banshee detected this one but had permission problems
Zen Stone Plus with speaker - Banshee did not detect at all (Ubuntu added it as a drive and not a player)
Copy Ipod nano 1GB - Banshee read and wrote to this one fine
Copy Ipod nano 2GB - Banshee read and wrote to this one fine
Copy ipod nano 4GB - Banshee read and wrote to this one fine
RockChip 8GB MP5 player - Ubuntu did not detect
Apad - Banshee did not detect it.
but I did delete the partition again and installed 64 bit version of Ubuntu 11.04 (instead of 32 bit) which made the Zen Stone 1GB work !!! is there a difference between 32 & 64 bit ?
Other thing why does Banshee not detect SD cards & usb drives ?? I use SD cards for music in the car. A 32GB card give enough audio storage for a long trip but Banshee can not sync them.
Regards Jim
