I'm using 11.04 on two mashines and have the same problem. However Natty
is some kind of Alfa release so I'll first switch back to 10.04 and when
the support is over and thins will go the way they do I'll switch to
Window$ ;(

Title:
Problems with opening radio stream
Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I'm facing a problem and am not sure whether to report it as a bug.
Banshee doesn't open my favourite radio station as easily as for
example Audacious does. The radiostation is
http://www.dnbnoize.com:8000 and the problem that I have to push
"Play" button several times to be able to hear the audio stream. The
radio starts mostly after second attempt. My Internet connection is
fast enough and as I wrote the problem doesn't exist for example in
Audacious. Sometimes I have to click "Previous" or "Next" button to
start the stream (that especially after hibernation or suspending-
Audacious keeps on playing smoothly also after these two operations).
Mostly when I click the Play button the program is "Connecting" and
then switch itself to "Idle". Then I have to click "Play" once again
and with a stroke of luck the stream starts. If it does not I have to
click "Play" a few more times cause usuallly every next click ends up
with "Idle".
I'd also like to ask whether is it possible to just click the "Play"
button in a system tray which will play my radio as a default the same
way Audacious does so that I didn't every time have to: open Banshee,
click on "Radio", click on my radiostation on the list and then fight
with the play button as I described above.
I'm trying to switch to Banshee because of the interesting integration
with Ubuntu but if things keep on going this way I'll stay by
Audacious.
