[ubuntu-mono] [Bug 774953] Re: mp3 plugin not found

I did not enable the multiverse repositories (and didn't know about them
(and if I had known about them, I might not have known that mp3 support
needs them)).

I think it might be nice if the user initially would be alerted about
the issue somehow, and if the subsequent silent fails on playing mp3's
could get a warning.

Title:
  mp3 plugin not found

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: banshee

Running Ubuntu 11.04 from a live-CD, I tried to play an mp3 file with
Banshee. When a message popped up saying that an mp3 module needed to
be downloaded, I agreed, but then it couldn't find the module
(networking was already working at the time). Later attempts to play
mp3 files failed silently; ogg files play fine.

So there are two problems to be fixed:
  1) Make sure that the mp3 module can be found
  2) If mp3 module can't be found, make sure that user is prompted later to download it again
