I have a similar problem, Banshee won't import files with accents. It
says the file do not exist although they are on the drive on the
specified location displayed correctly on Nautilus.

There's a bug report in Gnome for this but no solution

And also a reply in askubuntu for a possible insight on the problem but I couldn't make it work
