By sometimes, do you mean that it happens to some compilations and not
to others, or do you mean that it happens to the same compilation
sometimes?

It could be that Banshee does not manage to obtain the release year for
some audio CDs, and as such saves it as 1.

Title:
When importing audio CDs not all ID3 information are correctly stored.

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hey there,
I've imported several audio CDs the last days and there were two things that I noticed concerning the ID3 information I entered before importing:

  1. Sometimes Banshee wouldn't save the release year and would set it to "1" instead.
  2. Whenever I entered the artist of a compilation Banshee wouldn't actually save it.

Especially 2.) would result in a strange sorting of the songs which is how I noticed it.
As far as I remember, both bugs mostly if not always occured together. I can't tell exactly as not all CDs I imported were compilations (hence the "sometimes" in 1.)).

I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 and have Banshee 2.2.1 installed.

Please let me know if you need any further information.
