Reproduced in Japanese.

$ find /usr/share/locale-langpack/ -name banshee*
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/banshee-1.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES/banshee-1.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ja/LC_MESSAGES/banshee-1.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/banshee-1.mo

And worked to rename from "banshee-1.mo" to "banshee.mo".

Title:
  Banshee shows untranslated due to an wrongly-named .mo file

Status in Ubuntu Translations:
  Confirmed
Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Banshee shows fully untranslated in my Spanish Natty because the
  compiled-translations .mo file is called "banshee-1.mo" instead of
  "banshee.mo". To resolve this issue, I simply do:

    $ sudo mv /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/banshee-1.mo
  /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/banshee.mo

  I don't know if this is a Launchpad Translations related bug or a
  Banshee bug, but it's a rather big translations issue with a fairly
  easy fix.
