There is banshee_1.7.4-1ubuntu1~maverick1 in your PPA (Banshee unstable builds)
and also there are (for lucid)
banshee _1.7.4-1~ppa0 and banshee-community-extensions_1.7.4-1~ppa0 in Jacob Zimmermanns PPA (media).

Bug description:

The message "Waiting for playback to begin..." never disappears and lyrics are not shown

I get some error messages like this:
