Of course the work around (if using GNOME) is to quit the running Tomboy
and add the Tomboy applet to the panel. You will also want to remove any
session autostart you may have setup for Tomboy.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: tomboy

Using the new libappindicator enhanced version of tomboy, it is no longer possible to "pin" notes to the menu. Therefore, when working with large numbers of notes, it is no longer possible to ensure that some notes will always be easily accessible.
