Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

Description:	Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release:	10.04 - amd64

banshee 1.6.1-1~lucid1
gstreamer-plugins-bad 0.10.18-1ubuntu1

While using the gstreamer(problem might be also located in this package)
to get banshee using the jack-audio sink rather than the pulseaudio sink
memory usage of banshee increasing rapidly (up to 1.8 Gb in 1.5h while
gapless playback). Not using gapless playback seems to reduce the amound
of memory usage somewhat, but it goes still constantly up.

I neither noticed this problem using rhythmbox or using the pulseaudio-sink
(Latter reduces the soundquality noticably even using the best resampling quality.)

The soundcard is a terratec EWX2496 using the envy2496chipset and the
ICE1712 driver.

I didn't test weather the system will freeze ultimately letting the
sound run constantly. Due to heavily swap usage I killed banshee
beforehand.

** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
