Actually there is a "Recent Favourites" smart playlist defined by default, which
basically is a playlist that filters based on play count and last played date.

Apart from that, you could just sort any music source you want by "Last Played"
to get a history (in chronological or reverse chronological order) of songs.

Could you confirm if this is what you were looking for?
