  I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and burnt it to a CD today. After
  installing it, I used it for an hour after which the PC goes into a
  stage where it shows that "Battery is OK" and some other things are
  writte. Its a PC, not a laptop!
  
  After this, it keeps going through various black screens with white
