I can confirm this on Karmic and Lucid.

** Changed in: gtwitter (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Confirmed

gtwitter command-line options are all ignored

Status in “gtwitter” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gtwitter

Man page reads

       gtwitter [--composite]  [--debug]  [--help]  [--version]

       These programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long
       options starting with two dashes (‘-’). A summary of options is
       included below. For a complete description, see the Info files.

                 show summary of options and exit.

                 display the current version and exit.

                 enable composite interface.

                 print lots of debugging messages to stdout.

In fact, all options are ignored & gTwitter opens regardless of options passed.
