Yes, it was a problem between banshee and hal.  Starting hal caused it
to work again.

While I was using Karmic, Banshee recognized my Rockbox device (iPod Video) and was able to sync my library and podcasts with it.  Now that I have upgraded to Lucid, however, Banshee no longer recognizes this device.
