Here is a work-around for Docky users who don't have cardapio, which
will pop up the menu when you click on the Docky icon. I believe this
requires that gnome-panel be running somewhere. If you have a menu on
the panel it will pop up at that location, otherwise it will pop up at
your mouse cursor.
Install the package 'xvkbd' and then set this GConf key:
/apps/docky-2/Docky/Items/DockyItem/DockyItemCommand
to:
xvkbd -text "\[Alt_L]\[F1]"

Bug description:
1. GNOME Shell will be default in GNOME 3.
2. GNOME Shell cannot see certain applications when typing in an application name (IE: ubuntu Software center.)
3. Solution: add GNOME Menu to Docky.
AWN and Cairo Dock already have GNOME Menu equivalents, but Docky is much prettier and more suited for use with mutter/clutter.
To GNOME-Shell Project: Maybe add a plugin that allows to search gnome-menu db instead of what gnome-shell searches now?
