No, MOTU's work is to make Ubuntu rock even more. That requires lots of
time investment. Reducing the difference between Ubuntu and Debian
packages makes it easier to take over changes done by Debian developers,
leaving more time for Ubuntu developers to work on other stuff than
replicating the same difference over and over again.

However, while it certainly is a best-practice, reducing the diff isn't
by itself justify an upload.

I agree that this sync isn't a big problem, and I won't care at all if
someone else approves it, but still, it is pointless. The sync can still
be requested once Debian has some useful change (like a bug fix or a new
upstream version). Especially in this case, since I'm the Debian
Maintainer for the package and I fill sync requests for Ubuntu when
that's needed, so there is no risk that this package will be forgotten
and remain outdated in Ubuntu.


Anyway, thank you for your work on making Ubuntu better and for caring for Mistelix!
