I'm encountering similar behavior too.
I have 10.04 installed. It is an upgrade from an original 9.10 installation.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-do
Gnome-do freezes shortly after the computer is unlocked following an automatic lock due to inactivity immediately after login.
Steps to reproduce:
Login to gnome
Leave computer unattended till it automatically screen-locks
Enter your password to unlock the computer.
Gnome do freezes immediately after or a couple of minutes after you resume using your computer.
Expected Result: Normally responds to hot key (super+space), auto-hide.
Result Obtained: Not responsive to hot key(super+space) or clicking, does not auto-hide.
Running Ubuntu 9.10 with updates from lucid repositories.

Note: Gnome-do generally crashes a lot, I was previously unable to pin point any specific cause. I was able to reproduce it once but not unble to obtain consistent results.
