Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu: Invalid

Bug description:
Binary package hint: banshee

Using a mass storage device (eg Android phone), Banshee insists on transcoding transferred files to a nominated format even if the attached device can read the file being transferred.

Should be an option for user to list those types supported by the attached device (or a database of devices with supported codecs). Banshee should then transcode anything other than these file types using the chosen encoder.

Transcoding everything regardless of device capability is wasteful in terms of both quality and time.

Hope that's of some help :)
