I happened to notice a log file /tmp/podsleuth-debug that might provide
some details about this bug:

  - Temporary Mount Point:
  - FS Type:

Exception:

System.ApplicationException: Could not find org.freedesktop.Hal
  at Hal.Device.CastDevice[IDevice] () [0x00000]
  at Hal.Device..ctor (System.String udi) [0x00000]
  at PodSleuth.HalFrontend.HalPopulator.RunInternal (System.String[] args) [0x00000]
  at PodSleuth.HalFrontend.HalPopulator.Run (System.String[] args) [0x00000]

I mention it because banshee recommends podsleuth but I'm not certain if
it really uses for communicating with the iPod.
