To have banshee recognize your iPod, you need to install the podsleuth
package from Synaptic.

Also, you should install the latest Banshee from this repository:
https://launchpad.net/~banshee-team/+archive/ppa

Also make sure that you have installed the correct gstreamer plugins for
mp3 playback.
