Hi Rubén and Egil
Sorry for the delay, was out of the net.
The source of simias (iFolder's server) 3.7 is available from the bzr
repo. This code is buildable and runable. However, I did not have the
time to merge the new 3.7 client code into the repo.
Things that have to be done.
- Merge Novell's source (client) into the bzr repo
- Apply certain patches
- Then build the client side (the Novell's source is buildable)
- After which, try to get the client talking to simias
Patches
You will need to remove 001_lib_name and 003_use-system-gsoap patches
from debian/patches/00list as this was only relevant to the old code.
002_disambiguate_progress is still needed to change "Process[] processes
=" to "System.Diagnostics.Process[] processes =", but the line number
might have changed.
Building
This is the build-depends string that i have used in debian/control,
hope it will be useful. (Things might have change though)
Build-Depends: dpatch, debhelper (>= 5), pkg-config, cli-common-dev (>=
0.4.4), gconf2, libsimias-dev, libgtk2.0-dev, simias,
libstdc++5,automake1.9, autoconf, mono-mcs, libtool,uuid-dev, gsoap,
libgnome2.0-cil
Testing
Things got a bit tricky at this part as it keep giving out the
DomanAccountAlreadyExists Exception. Up till now, I still cannot figure
how to solve this. Maybe i could suggest getting a opensuse installation
and try to install Novell's binary ifolder server, simias. After which,
try to get the client that we have built to talk to it. I suspect that i
might have missed out certain things in simias.
Unfortunately, I could not contribute as much as I would like to thus
the job of getting iFolder 3.7 into Ubuntu would fall on you guys.
Thanks to Rubén for raising the awareness of iFolder through your blog
and helping to get others involve. Also thanks to Egil for voluteering
the time to get this done. This is the time where the Ubuntu Community's
spirit is burning!
Cheers
