Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: mono
Especially now that rhythmbox might be replaced by banshee, more and more people are commenting in blogs, forums, mailing lists, that mono is evil technology because it's from microsoft, it's slow, it's a ram eater, etc. etc. etc.
These rumors must be someway stopped, starting to spread correct information, especially to those people which opinion is influenced by mono trolls (in forums and blogs they are really active and can convince you that the black man is in your computer)
This shouldn't become a political discussion, because otherwise it's not possible to distinguish where is the truth.
The following things are needed:
- startup benchmarks
- warm performance benchmarks
- gtk-sharp benchmarks about the gui
- memory benchmarks
- some lawyers opinions about patents
- direct contact to microsoft lawyers to ask them if mono is infringing anything
