The same problem also exists with vuze. 
But surprisingly , the problem is present *only* if i install vuze from the repos . 

If i download the vuze package [linux version] from the vuze site ,
extract the contents and run vuze from the location in my home directory
, this problem is *not* present.

       Status: Invalid => New
