For anybody having this problem, I've found a deb package of MonoDevelop 2.0 Alpha at:
http://www.getdeb.net/app/MonoDevelop

I've run into a few minor issues using it, but the NUnit tests work.
This should be a temporary workaround until the Ubuntu packages are
fixed.
