[ubuntu-mono] [Bug 200395] [NEW] SocketException

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mono

I am trying to run a program which works fine under mono in windows.
But when I run it in mono under ubuntu
I get the exception 

Unhandled Exception: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known
  at System.Net.Dns.GetHostByName (System.String hostName) [0x00000]
  at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry (System.String hostNameOrAddress) [0x00000]

I  dont think thats its an issue with IP address or service since I can conncet to the service in windows with mono
