An additional note:
In the preferences, "store metadata in files" (in german: "Metadaten in Dateien schreiben") is deactivated. 

Anyway I wonder what this option excactly does: Do the metadata get
stored in the (e.g. jpeg) images themselves instead or additionally to
the f-spot database?
