Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

After running banshee(and then closing it ofcourse), sound redirection
from my TV-tuner card using sox doesn't work. Sox fails with an error
"Device or resource busy". Oddly enough, using any other audio
application does not cause this problem. Even more odd is that running
"fuser /dev/dsp" to see which process is still using the device does not
return anything.(/dev/dsp is my main sound device and i redirect to it
from /dev/dsp1 which is the tv-tuner sound device)

I checked with the banshee people, and they said that it is a distro bug
since banshee simply uses whatever device is defined in gconf, although
i would think that the problem here is that banshee(or something
related) doesn't proplery release the device after closing.

This is the redirection command that i use "sox -r 32000 -w -t ossdsp
/dev/dsp1 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp"

This can be reproduced every time on my machine, although because of its
specific nature, would be hard to reproduce on another machine. I am
willing to do whatever testing is needed on my machine to help.

** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
