I'm seeing the same issue with amaroK. The buttons worked fine before upgrading from Edgy to Feisty. Volume up and down works, xev shows activity, and the buttons work in RhythmBox. -- Multimedia keys not working in Feisty https://launchpad.net/bugs/87299
