This bug is intended to make the tab bar more natural, and related to
those two:

the "+" button in the tab bar does not really serve any purpose, since
once you start writing it's easier just to hit the intro key. Removing
it would make the tab look cleaner and save some space.

I'm attaching a mockup of how the bar would look if this bug (and the
other related two) were to be addressed.
