Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: tomboy
Steps to reproduce
- on 'installation' i.e. activate the applet on the panel, a 'Start Here' note will be created (say we have English as language)
- automatically, the startpoint shortcut (Alt-F11) will point to the created start note
- when *changing* the language setting, say Dutch , the startpoint shortcut will *not* be able to connect it self to the start note .... probably because it's hardcoded to 'Start here' ( in Dutch the title will be 'Begin hier')
- when you change the title (in my example) from 'Start here' to 'Begin hier' everything works again
Problem seems to be that the connection between the start here shortcut
is *dynamically*, based on the title of the note ('Start here', 'Begin
hier' or any other possible translation) but the note it self is
*static*, i.e. the title does not change when switching languages. When
you have a system configured with multiple languages, only one of them
shows the correct behavior.
Possible solution. Have a configuration setting which identifies the
'Start here' note by file name, and do not look to the title of the
note.
Bug appears both on Edgy and Feisty.
