i have the ubuntu thunderbird package from ubuntu, it's possible at one
point in the past i ran thunderbird from mozilla.org but i don't think
so.

i only have a .mozilla-thunderbird folder in my home directory.

~$ ls -a | grep thunder
=> .mozilla-thunderbird
