Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: banshee
Please describe the problem:
If portable_audio_player.folder_depth property for mass storage device set a
value of 10* then songs with a space in the artist's name don't get create
proprely.
For example, dragging "States of Transit" by "The Herd" from the album "An
Elefant Never Forgets" only creates the directories:
T/Th/The/
the audio file doesn't end up anywhere on the device.
* NOTE: As raised in http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375140,
regardless of what I set the portable_audio_player.folder_depth property to for
my device, it seems to read it as 10 but I think that this is a separate bug.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Unplug mass storage device
2. Add section <append key="portable_audio_player.folder_depth"
type="int">10</append> to the section of 10-usb-music-players.fdi for your
player
3. Plug the device in and start banshee
4. Attempt to copy a song from your library to the mass storage player
5. Check if file created
Actual results:
Only directories up to:
T/Th/The/
are created and the audio file is not copied to device
Expected results:
That the audio file be created in a directory 10 deeper than the root of the
device's filesystem
Does this happen every time?
yes
