It is crashing on my system too.

What appears to be crashing is:

 Core was generated by `beagled-helper --debug /usr/lib/beagle/IndexHelper.exe'.
 Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

This is what looks like is giving the problem at the loading of the
desktop. This was without making any changes to environmental variables.
(I am running Edgy as well)

The error report is attached, although I think it is pretty much the
same.
