Sorry for the lack of details, but I've recompiled Muine according to
these instructions (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=72285) in
order to play AAC files, so I can't report if any errors are reported in
the terminal.

Before, I believe Muine would just ignore AAC files. This was with
gstreamer0.8-faad installed.
