My patch works on Ubuntu Dapper... probably works with any build that
uses Firefox 1.5 or better... and while I am a developer, my Linux
development skills are pretty sparse. So, my patch doesn't work for
users of Firefox 1.0.x.

Since this workaround was posted, I've had to do quite a few other workarounds as well to keep it working. The thread that outlines all that needs to be done is here:
