[ubuntu-mono] [Bug 57274] mono crashed

Public bug reported:

I opened synaptic package manager and started downloading package files, and mono crashed. 
In an unrelated event, which I think is connected to this, my taskbar malfunctioned. I highlighted "Applications" and the list flickered and did not allow me to access any of the programs.
