Description:
According to the man page of beagled, accessed by the command `man
beagled' the --foregrond|--fg argument executes the Beagle daemon in the
background, and --background|--bg says the same. Typo?

QUOTE:

OPTIONS
       beagled has many options, although most are for debugging and fine-tuning execution and are thus not required for standard use.
       --foreground|--fg
              If specified, execute the Beagle daemon in the background.

       --background|--bg
              If  specified,  execute  the  Beagle  daemon  in  the background (default).
