[ubuntu-mono] Mysterious Mono PPC64 Buildd Breakage

Friendly Neighborhood Buildd Admins,

We have yet to come up with a good explanation for recent Mono
failures on PPC buildd. [1]
However, we have narrowed it down enough that it seems to be
system-specific, in that we can't reproduce it.  Here is an attempt to
recap everything we know.

What is frustrating is, the same sources build on other ppc machines,
including G5 (64 bit kernel).
Also, sources that build previously on the buildd now fail (1.1.10) in
dapper and breezy chroots on the buildd box, confirmed by mvo.

The only change we can put a finger on seems to be a change from 32 to
64 bit kernel, which appeared to work elsewhere.

Any more ideas greately appreciated.
